Becoming a Quaranteen

 

A year ago we had been quarantined for just under a month. We had passed the point of knowing that the two-week lockdown was going to be more than we originally thought.  We had not quite yet understood that the lockdown would last months and that the next year (and beyond) would be different than the life we had ever known.

Everyone has experienced hardship this past year.  Everyone has sacrificed.  I am thankful that my family has escaped illness, death, and financial hardship due to Covid-19.  We have been fortunate.  However, I have also experienced the life of a mother watching her children turn into teenagers in a time of isolation. It's not easy.
